Witness Appeal- Fatal Road Traffic Collision, Luke’s Bridge, Gortnaleck, Grange, Co. Sligo- 29th August 2026

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision near Luke’s Bridge, Gortnaleck, Grange, Co. Sligo on 29 August 2026. The collision occurred at approximately 3:55pm and involved a van and a pedestrian, the owner of the vehicle. A male in his 40s was pronounced deceased at the scene and his body has been removed to the local mortuary for a post-mortem examination. The coroner has been notified. The road was closed for a technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators, which has since been completed and the road has reopened. Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision or has camera footage, including dash-cam, to come forward.
