The Labour Court has overturned a €24,000 unfair dismissal award to former employee Glen Cotter, finding his constructive dismissal complaint was not well founded. In a decision signed on 15 August 2025, it set aside the Adjudication Officer’s ruling and made no new award. Cotter alleged he resigned after workplace complaints, bullying and harassment, and an investigation into a missing lodgement. Marlboro Trust (Retail) Limited denied acting unreasonably and said he resigned before using internal procedures. The Court found his resignation premature and said the missing payment was later identified as a card transaction mislabelled as cash.
