Labour Court dismisses Conor Brenann’s appeal over late filing

The Labour Court dismissed Conor Brenann’s appeal concerning claims against Irish Pride Fine Foods Unlimited after finding that it was filed outside the statutory time limit. The Court found no exceptional circumstances to justify extending the deadline and said it had no jurisdiction to hear the appeal. The merits were not decided. The Court’s determination was dated 30 July 2018. The complainant’s solicitor said an online date calculator had miscalculated the filing deadline. An Adjudication Officer had earlier found the claims not well founded.
