The Labour Court awarded Javier Fernandez Torres €768 after finding Sitting Tree Limited T/A Harbour Bar failed to provide him with the required five-day written statement of employment terms. The determination was dated 28 November 2022. Mr Torres, a bartender, said the employer had not given him the statement required by the Terms of Employment (Information) Act. The company said it issued a payslip containing some employment details and described the omissions as a technical breach. The Court found the payslip was not issued as the required statement. It awarded four weeks’ compensation, calculated at 16 hours a week and €12 an hour.
