The Labour Court upheld a €560 award to Ms Claire Treanor after The Acorn Montessori Preschool’s appeal over written terms of employment failed. Treanor complained that she had not received a written statement of her terms and conditions. The employer said it had placed a copy of Treanor’s contract in her personnel file, but accepted it had never given it to her. The Court found leaving the contract in the file did not meet the legal requirement and ordered payment within six weeks. A separate appeal concerning a Payment of Wages Act complaint was withdrawn. The determination was dated 8 March 2021.
