The Labour Court set aside an earlier decision and awarded William O’Brien €1,980 after finding that Go Power breached the law on written employment terms. The determination was signed on 15 October 2020. O’Brien appealed a decision that had found his complaint against LCC Power Ltd Go Power not well founded. He said he had not received written terms within the required time limits. The company said it emailed his contract on his first day, 8 April 2019. The parties agreed O’Brien could not access the company email system until 16 April. The Court found the five-day statement was late and that the company had not proved he received the statement required within two months.
