The Labour Court upheld a finding against driver Patrick Doolin in a determination signed on 29 March 2017. It ruled that Stobart (Ireland) Driver Services Ltd did not breach the Terms of Employment (Information) Act 1994. Doolin said the company had not given him information about his regular starting and finishing times or the duration of his working day. Stobart argued that his written contract set out terms covering working hours and overtime. The Court found that the Act did not require an employer to include normal or regular start and finish times in a written statement of employment terms. It affirmed the Adjudication Officer’s decision that the complaint was not well founded.
