The Labour Court upheld a €250 award to Svitlana Demenko for receiving her written employment terms late and dismissed her appeal over a €2,400 wages claim. The determination was signed on 22 February 2016. Demenko appealed three Rights Commissioner decisions concerning her employment with Dilion & Co Limited. The Court left the €250 award in place, finding no reason to increase compensation. Her representative accepted she had suffered no actual loss or detriment, and the Court described other alleged omissions in the statement as technical and insubstantial. The Court dismissed the Payment of Wages appeal after noting Demenko received two weeks’ written notice. It also dismissed her claim for holiday and public-holiday pay for a period after her employment ended. She withdrew a separate appeal about notice of daily start and finish times.
