The Labour Court found the Technical, Engineering and Electrical Union’s complaint against Anthony Higgins T/A A.H. Security was not well founded in a decision signed on 5 October 2012. The union alleged breaches of the Electrical Contracting Industry Registered Employment Agreement covering wages, travel time, subsistence and employee benefit schemes. It said Higgins’s electrical contracting work fell within the agreement and sought an inspection of his records. Higgins said he was a sole trader who had never employed anyone. The Court found the union had not produced sufficient evidence to substantiate its complaint.
