The Labour Court directed CM Bard Tavern Limited T/A Bar Square to pay Richard Gaughan €667.50 for unpaid hours, varying an earlier decision. The determination was dated 2 May 2023. Mr Gaughan worked for the company for two weeks in July 2021. He withdrew his complaint about the agreed hourly rate at the hearing, accepting he was entitled to €15 an hour. The dispute was over whether he had been paid for all the hours he worked. The Court found he worked 51 hours in the first week and 45 in the second, entitling him to €1,440 in total; he had been paid €772.50. It directed the employer to pay the remaining €667.50. An Adjudication Officer had previously awarded €802.50.
