The Labour Court overturned an adjudication officer’s decision and awarded Michael Grady €4,230 in compensation after finding Icanix Capital Services Limited underpaid his wages over 18 weeks. The determination was dated 30 August 2020. Grady appealed, saying he was underpaid while working for the company in 2018. The company did not attend the hearing but sent a written submission saying the agreed rate was €650 a week after tax. Payslips showed Grady received €415 net each week. The Court found he had not been paid the contractually agreed rate and calculated an underpayment of €235 a week for 18 weeks.
