The Labour Court upheld a €1,461.70 wages award to Javier Eduardo Perez Meza after Robert Chambers appealed. The determination was dated 22 February 2018. Chambers said the deduction from Perez Meza’s final wages covered part of a training-course cost under his employment contract. Perez Meza said he had not received a contract or agreed in writing to the deduction. The Court found Chambers could not provide a signed contract or written consent, ruled that the deduction breached the Payment of Wages Act, 1991, and affirmed the award.
