The Labour Court upheld a €510 award to Dayana Jonson Goncalves Generoso after Bernardine Mc Cormack And Thomas Mc Cormack appealed. The determination was dated 23 January 2018. Generoso said her employers demanded four weeks’ pay in lieu of notice when she left. They argued her complaint was invalid and that her visa conditions made her employment contract illegal, but the Court rejected both arguments. It found the payment was not authorised by her contract or by law and was not consented to. The Court disallowed the appeal and upheld the adjudication officer’s decision.
