Labour Court rejects Hussain Ali’s appeal over overtime claim against Kohinoor

The Labour Court rejected Hussain Ali’s appeal against Kohinoor Limited over unpaid overtime, finding his Payment of Wages Act complaint was brought outside the time limit. The merits were not decided. Ali said he had not been paid for overtime worked from 2006 until November 2009. He referred his claim to the Workplace Relations Commission in July 2015, after his employment ended in June 2015. The Court’s determination was dated 17 October 2016. It found the claim was out of time and upheld the Adjudication Officer’s decision.
