The Labour Court disallowed Inisbofin Community Services Programme Co. Ltd’s appeal and affirmed the €1,014 award to Brenda Burke. The determination was dated 18 May 2016. Burke said her hourly rate rose from €8.65 to €9.65 in September 2013 and fell back to €8.65 in January 2014. The Court accepted her evidence that the increase had no end date and amended her contract to set her rate at €9.65 per hour. It found the company had no contractual right to reduce her rate unilaterally, so the €1 reduction was an unauthorised deduction from wages.
