The Labour Court rejected Robert Blazsik’s appeal over his dismissal by MFC Foods Limited T/A Dessert First, finding his penalisation complaint was not well founded. The Court’s determination was dated 12 May 2022. Blazsik said the dismissal followed his request for a revised statement of terms and conditions. The company said it dismissed him because of his conduct when he approached its owner, Margaret Fleming. The Court found his representative could not show a link between the dismissal and his part-time status or his assertion of rights under the Protection of Employees (Part-Time Work) Act 2001.
