The Labour Court declined jurisdiction over William Quick’s appeal of a complaint that Mogi Sa failed to pay him the national minimum wage during his employment from 24 August 2018 to 23 February 2019. The determination was dated 18 June 2020. The Court found Quick had neither sought nor received the written statement of his average hourly rate required under section 23 of the National Minimum Wage Act 2000. He had not attended the Adjudication Officer hearing, where his complaint was not upheld. The Court affirmed that decision; the merits were not decided.
