Labour Court ·

The Labour Court rejected Marek Marciniuk’s appeal against Wicklow Recreational Services Ltd over his minimum-wage claim. The determination was signed on 3 November 2015. Marciniuk sought compensation for an eight-week period in September and October 2013 when he said he received no work. The Court reaffirmed the Rights Commissioner’s decision, finding that Marciniuk was employed on a zero-hours contract and that no breach of minimum-wage law occurred during the period. The €837.07 compensation and €50.25 expenses he sought were not awarded.
