The Labour Court ordered Alan Dunne to pay Lara Beveridge €11,354 after finding that he had not implemented a Rights Commissioner’s decision. The determination was signed on 9 November 2009.
Beveridge brought the complaint under section 31(1) of the National Minimum Wage Act 2000, saying her former employer had failed to carry out the earlier decision. The Court found that the decision had not been carried out and that no appeal had been brought within the time limit.
The Court determined that Dunne must pay the €11,354 in accordance with the Rights Commissioner’s decision. The determination put that earlier decision into effect; it did not make a new finding about the original complaint or set out how the earlier amount had been calculated. Dunne was identified as Beveridge’s former employer.
