The Labour Court upheld a €2,767.10 award to Margaret Whelan after rejecting Grace Signs’ appeal over her minimum wage complaint. Whelan said she worked more than 43 hours a week without receiving the statutory minimum wage. Grace Signs argued she was a partner rather than an employee and that the standard week was 39 hours. The Court found no reason to depart from the Rights Commissioner’s findings and conclusions. Its determination was signed on 17 September 2003.
