The Labour Court extended the deadline for Yeria Limited T/A Dun Na Nog to appeal against a €20,000 WRC award to Bolanle Adegbite. The determination was signed on 8 June 2017; the Court directed that the substantive appeal proceed to a new hearing, so the merits were not decided.
The WRC had awarded Adegbite the sum after Yeria did not attend the hearing. The company said WRC notices had been sent to its business address rather than its registered address. The Labour Court found exceptional circumstances prevented a timely appeal and allowed it to be made by 16 February 2017.
