The Labour Court has recommended that Cork City Council not concede a claim by Two Community Wardens seeking regrading as Social Inclusion Development Officers. The recommendation was signed on 25 June 2025. SIPTU argued the wardens’ duties had changed and sought an independent job evaluation. The Council said the roles did not align and the claim would increase costs. The Court noted that the union had not challenged the Council’s comparative review in writing and found no basis to recommend concession of the claim.
