The Labour Court upheld a €500 compensation recommendation after a Cork County Council traffic warden appealed an adjudication officer’s decision over access to toilet facilities. The Court found the facilities currently provided were adequate, but recommended compensation because of delays in the Council’s dealings with the worker. Its recommendation was signed on 26 June 2025. The worker, represented by SIPTU, said access to a nearby toilet had been withdrawn and that his grievance was not addressed promptly. Cork County Council said he had only temporary access to a depot toilet and that other facilities were appropriate. The appeal failed, and the adjudication officer’s decision was upheld.
