The Labour Court has recommended that Daa PLC continue a 16-hour public-holiday arrangement for 15 Workers at Dublin Airport until the end of 2024, after which their contractual entitlement should apply. The recommendation was dated 11 November 2024. The workers, represented by CONNECT, received 16 hours off in lieu when rostered to work on a public holiday, though post-2010 contracts provided for 11 hours. Daa PLC said the difference resulted from a manual recording error and that it had not sought to recover the overpayments. The union argued the repeated practice amounted to a policy. The Court found it arose from human error and did not create an ongoing entitlement through custom and practice.
