The Labour Court recommended 3% basic pay increases for Kyte Powertech workers for each year from 2022 to 2024, with retrospection to 1 January 2022. It also recommended an additional 1.5% increase for welders from 1 January 2022. The recommendation was dated 17 June 2022. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union (SIPTU) had sought 4% annual increases and an additional increase for welders. The union said members were concerned that operational efficiency measures could affect payments through factors outside their control, including overtime and staffing levels. The Court also recommended increasing Christmas vouchers to €400 from Christmas 2022 and capping union committee release at seven representatives. It recommended that the parties discuss the efficiency payment scheme concerns for eight weeks, with WRC assistance if needed, and return the issue to the Court if they could not resolve it.
