The Labour Court recommended that Cartamundi renew an offer to restore one day of annual leave to 170 General Operatives after a dispute over leave deducted during a 2020 lay-off. The recommendation was dated 10 June 2022. SIPTU said Cartamundi Ireland Limited deducted two contractual leave days after a nine-week lay-off. Cartamundi said a Covid-19 outbreak led to its closure on 12 March 2020, and restrictions delayed reopening until 18 May. The company had offered to restore one day if workers dropped their claim for the second; affected union members rejected that offer. The Court recommended renewing the one-day offer in full and final settlement.
