The Labour Court recommended that Connect Trade Union accept one of two pay options offered to workers at Saica Pack Ireland, in a recommendation signed on 23 December 2021. The union sought a one-year pay deal with the extra annual leave included in a separate two-year offer. The one-year option included a 1.5% basic salary increase, a €460 Christmas voucher and an extra €71.36 annual bonus in 2021. The two-year option offered 1.5% salary increases in 2021 and 2022, a €500 voucher in 2022, €252.20 more service pay from the first year and an extra day of annual leave in each year. The Court also recommended further engagement to resolve any service-pay issue specific to the group of five fitters and three electricians.
