The Labour Court recommended that discussions over a location allowance for 10 nurses at Tipperary General Hospital take place nationally rather than locally. Its recommendation was signed on 6 September 2021. The nurses, represented by INMO, sought the allowance retrospectively from 26 February 2020, saying nurses in endoscopy services at other HSE hospitals received it. Tipperary University Hospital, represented by HSE South East, argued the day ward nurses did not perform endoscopy procedures and that extending the allowance could prompt further claims. The Court noted the allowance was governed by a national agreement and recommended that any further engagement on the issue take place nationally.
