Labour Court recommends €15 weekly lodge increase for 30 Craft Workers

The Labour Court recommended that BCD Masco Group amend its offer to 30 Craft Workers, represented by UNITE TRADE UNION, to provide a €15 weekly increase in the lodge allowance. It recommended that the amended offer be accepted. The recommendation was signed on 26 August 2021. The dispute concerned the application of mechanical contracting pay rates. The union sought alignment with sector rates and a fixed weekly travel amount. The employer had offered a €10 increase in the weekly lodge allowance, bringing it to €180, alongside a €100 voucher. The Court also recommended that the parties consider whether their pay-round bargaining arrangements support effective and inclusive engagement.
