The Labour Court recommended that Wexford Women's Refuge pay one increment to staff, following a claim by 10 Social Care & Clerical Workers. The recommendation was signed on 9 August 2021. The unions sought reinstatement and retrospective payment of increments. Wexford Women's Refuge said it could not fund the claim from its current allocation and that the funding authority had not provided for additional money. The Court noted conflicting expert reports on the refuge's financial capacity and recommended that the parties jointly approach Tusla about the effect of implementation.
