The Labour Court recommended further discussions on pay and annual leave claims by seven workers at Kerry Creameries Ltd, represented by the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union. If the talks did not produce agreement by the end of September, the parties should seek Workplace Relations Commission assistance. The recommendation was signed on 7 July 2021. The union sought an 8.5% pay increase over three years, five extra days of annual leave, health insurance and the incorporation of two allowances into basic remuneration. The Court did not recommend the healthcare package or the incorporation of the allowances. It also said the workers were hourly paid on annualised-hours contracts, rather than salaried staff.
