The Labour Court recommended against a retrospective tool allowance claim by two Department Of Defence craftsmen for 2012 to 2017. The recommendation was dated 5 May 2021. The Court said national circulars excluded workers recruited after 31 January 2012 from the allowance, and found the claimants were recruited after that date. It said a national agreement restored tool allowances from 1 January 2018 and applied to them, but found no merit in their claim for earlier payments.
