The Labour Court has recommended that Sleever International and the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union return to local discussions over a 2019 pay claim. The union sought a 5% increase; the company said it preferred a polyvalence scheme and performance bonus, and argued annual increases had eroded its competitiveness. The recommendation, dated 27 July 2020, says the parties may seek help from the Workplace Relations Commission’s Conciliation Service. If they cannot agree, they may return to the Court under section 26 of the Industrial Relations Act 1990.
