Labour Court recommends CCL Labels and A Worker & Others resume talks on pay and shift allowance

The Labour Court recommended CCL Labels and A Worker & Others, represented by Services Industrial Professional Technical Union, re-engage over a 5% pay increase claim for 2019 and a 17.5% shift allowance claim for Double Day shifts. The recommendation was signed on 30 June 2020. The employer said Dublin site pay was 30% to 100% higher than at other European locations and the shift allowance was a fixed amount. The Court said the collective dispute was inappropriate for referral under section 20(1), recommended renewed engagement with WRC assistance if needed, and said the parties could jointly seek a further referral if agreement failed.
