The Labour Court recommended further engagement over a location allowance claimed for up to 10 Nurses who work or worked at Annalee View House in Cootehill. The recommendation was signed on 19 March 2020. The Psychiatric Nurses Association and the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation said the nurses met the criteria for the allowance. HSE Cavan/Monaghan said the unit did not qualify. The relevant agreement provides for the allowance in an intellectual disability service where at least 75% of clients have severe or profound intellectual disabilities. The Court cited disagreement over key facts and how to assess them, and recommended further engagement with help from the Workplace Relations Commission Conciliation Service.
