Labour Court recommends temporary protection for Dublin Airport Authority clerical staff travel arrangements

By Gráinne Nolan

Historic decision · Decision date:

Place: no local area assigned from the source.

The Labour Court recommended that Dublin Airport Authority preserve existing travel time and time-in-lieu arrangements for 30 Clerical Staff in Limerick for up to 12 months, or until a company-wide agreement is reached, whichever comes first. The recommendation was signed on 12 March 2020. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union sought restoration of time off in lieu for travel and removal of a five-hour cap. The Authority said travel time was distinct from work time and that changes could increase costs and prompt other claims. If no agreement is reached within 12 months, the post-2015 arrangements will apply thereafter.
