The Labour Court recommended two 2.8% pay increases for workers at Boc Gases Ireland Limited and a daily meal allowance of €9.50, in a recommendation dated 16 January 2020. The collective dispute, brought by 174 - Clerical, Drivers & Engineers, concerned pay increases over two years and the meal allowance. The workers sought 3% annual increases from August 2019 and a rise in the allowance from €8.80 to €10. Boc Gases Ireland Limited cited rising operating costs, competition, lost market share and uncertainty over Brexit. The Court recommended increases from 1 August 2019 and 1 August 2020, with an agreement running to 31 July 2021.
