The Labour Court recommended an ex-gratia payment of €4,000 to a worker at Quality And Qualifications Ireland (Qqi) for distress following the handling of her bullying complaint. The recommendation was dated 21 October 2019. The worker said the investigation and appeal process was flawed. The Court found she had access to documents, representation, witnesses, the investigation report and an appeal, and said her right to natural justice had not been infringed. It was concerned, however, that the investigation found some behaviour towards her was inappropriate and caused distress. The Court recommended the payment in full and final settlement of the claim.
