Labour Court recommends €5,000 redundancy payment for 16 Celtic Media Print workers

The Labour Court recommended that Celtic Media Print pay 16 redundant printers an additional €2,500 each for under ten years’ service or €5,000 each for over ten years’ service. The recommendation was signed on 23 September 2019. Unite the Union sought a package in line with an earlier Labour Court recommendation, saying employees had made significant sacrifices and concessions. Celtic Media Print said its finances could not support payments above statutory entitlements and that no further funding was available. The Court considered confidential financial information before recommending the payments offered during WRC conciliation.
