The Labour Court recommended that University College Cork not concede the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union’s claim over proposed grade changes at the Boole Library. The recommendation was dated 22 July 2019. The Court said the agreed staffing model provided for two Library Departmental Operatives and one Senior Library Operative, with General Services staff handling opening, monitoring and closing duties. It asked the parties to put the arrangements in place by the start of the 2019–20 academic year.
