The Labour Court recommended against regrading three environmental officers at Limerick City & County Council, finding no basis to concede their claims. Its recommendation was dated 12 July 2019. Two environmental inspectors and a litter warden sought regrading as environmental control officers. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union and FORSA said they performed similar work to environmental control officers, who had better terms. The Council argued that the comparator grade was unique to the former Limerick County Council, was due to be suppressed, and that granting the claims could lead to further claims.
