Labour Court recommends Grade 3 regrading for eight Limerick traffic wardens

The Labour Court recommended that eight traffic wardens at Limerick City & County Council accept a Grade 3 regrading offer, backdated to 31 March 2017, in full settlement of their claim. The recommendation was dated 12 July 2019. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union sought Grade 5 pay, arguing the workers should be aligned with the Water/Sewage Curator scale. The Council had offered Grade 3, which it said reflected similar arrangements elsewhere. The Court said the union had not substantiated its claim that traffic wardens in other local authorities were paid at Grade 5.
