The Labour Court recommended amending St John of God Hospital, Stillorgan’s proposal to settle a dispute over leave arrangements during Storm Emma. The recommendation was dated 12 July 2019. FORSA, PNA and SIPTU sought application of HSE Circular 017/2018 to hospital staff affected by the storm. The hospital said it was private and not covered by HSE circulars; the unions accepted that clarification at the hearing. The Court recommended changing the proposal to reflect the three-day weather event of 28 February, 1 March and 2 March 2018. The amended proposal would settle the unions’ claim in full.
