The Labour Court recommended that Clancourt Management Unlimited Company T/A Clancourt Management pay 14 security and maintenance officers an allowance of €140 for each full week they are on call. The recommendation was signed on 25 June 2019. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union sought changes to on-call terms at the Crescent Shopping Centre in Limerick, including an allowance, mileage and vehicle insurance. The Court also recommended a written on-call policy within six weeks, triple the normal daily rate for on-call duty on Christmas Day, New Year’s Day or Easter Sunday, and enrolment in the Construction Workers’ Injury at Work Scheme. It found the mileage claim lacked merit, the company was not responsible for insuring workers’ vehicles and existing rest-break arrangements met requirements.
