The Labour Court recommended that Lloyds Pharmacy Ireland Limited recognise Mandate Trade Union as representative of its members and engage with the union on pay and conditions. The recommendation, dated 16 May 2019, followed a dispute involving about 170 employees. Mandate sought a 3.4% pay increase, incremental pay scales and improvements to sick pay, annual leave and public holiday and Sunday premiums. Lloyds Pharmacy did not attend the hearing or set out its position in correspondence. The Court said it was regrettable the employer had not attended, given the significance of the issue.
