The Labour Court recommended three pay increases for workers at Sodexo Ireland: 1% from September 2016, 1% from September 2017 and 2% from September 2018. The recommendation was signed on 10 April 2019, and the agreement was to expire on 31 August 2019. Unite the Union said workers had received no pay increase since 2015 and argued Sodexo Ireland could afford the claim. Sodexo Ireland said the site operated under a maximum-price contract, workers were paid above the sector’s Employment Regulation Order rates, and the cost of any increase would fall to the company. The Court said the Order’s minimum rates did not prevent negotiations for higher pay. It recommended the increases for the group of workers.
