The Labour Court recommended that the Health Service Executive pay a worker €18,000 after delays and procedural flaws in handling his workplace bullying complaint. The recommendation was dated 19 March 2019.
The worker said he lost earnings after his paid sick leave ran out while the HSE investigated his complaint. Occupational health had recommended three times over six months that he could work if moved to another location. The Court said acting on those recommendations would have prevented his financial losses. The HSE accepted problems with the process, including that he received witness statements only after seeking them.
