The Labour Court recommended against a claim by nine former heads of department who said incorporation of St Patrick’s College, Drumcondra into Dublin City University had cost them responsibility, status or office. The recommendation was signed on 25 January 2019. The union sought promotion to Professor for eight claimants and paid-sabbatical considerations. The university said the workers had suffered no loss, had received salary increases and transferred on permanent contracts. The Court noted existing procedures for professorships and sabbaticals.
