The Labour Court did not recommend a pay claim by about 400 Community Training Centre managers, instructors and clerical employees represented by the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union. It recommended that the union and the Irish Association of Community Training Organisations ( Iacto) seek clarity from the Department on future pay negotiations. The recommendation was signed on 25 January 2019. The union sought increases of 4% from 1 January 2016, 3.5% from 1 January 2017 and 2.5% from 1 January 2018, saying workers had received no rise since 2007. IACTO said it could not afford the increases and that the former link between Community Training Centre pay scales and FÁS scales had ended in 2013.
