The Labour Court did not recommend conceding the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union (SIPTU)’s claim for five extra days of annual leave over additional hours worked under the Haddington Road Agreement. The recommendation was signed on 18 June 2018. The claim concerned Trinity College Dublin employees whose additional hours began on 1 July 2013, earlier than those of workers represented by other unions. SIPTU sought five days’ leave to compensate for the extra hours worked from July to September 2013. The college said it implemented the agreement as directed. The Court noted that members of other unions worked fewer additional hours for about three months, but said Trinity College Dublin acted in accordance with the agreement ratified by SIPTU. It therefore did not recommend conceding the claim.
